Navigate the Business of Book Publishing.
About Author and Publisher – Rosemary Augustine
Rosemary Augustine self published her first book in 1995. Her publishing mentor was the late Dan Poynter who was the Godfather of self publishing and the author of over 100 books including The Self Publishing Manual. In the mid 1990s while living in Denver, Colorado, Rosemary was a frequent speaker at the annual Rocky Mountain Book Festival and Aspen Writer’s Conference, as well as a member of Colorado Independent Publishers Association. She became the President of Colorado Independent Publishers Association in the late 1990s.
When Rosemary relocated to the east coast in 2001, there were no independent publishing groups to speak of or even participate in. However, she kept writing and later formed Self Publishing for Writers Meet Up Group in Wayne, PA in 2012 – the same year she released her 3rd book 365 Days of Creative Writing. With that group, she helped over 50 members launch their books through her monthly support and ongoing inspiration as the Self Publishing for Writers MeetUp Organizer. In 2015, Rosemary relocated to Melbourne, Florida and handed off the Meet Up Group to another author. But within months, she was asked by many members to continue her support of writers and authors, and provide her knowledge of book publishing to those who sought help in the navigation the business of book publishing. As a result, Rosemary began The Self Publishing Group in January 2016 using teleconferencing and webinars. To keep current with the publishing times, Rosemary changed the name of the group to “Indie Authors and Publishers” in mid 2017. Rosemary continued to assist authors with any questions on how to navigate the publishing world regardless if she is their publisher.
Today, Rosemary has personally written over 15 books, published on four different platforms. And, she has published books for many other authors. Rosemary is knowledgeable in publishing using Ingram Spark, KDP Direct (formerly CreateSpace), Kindle, LuLu and Smashwords. She stays abreast of the publishing changes so she can share with others the ins and outs of the publishing world. Rosemary is an active member of Non-Fiction Authors Association and participates in their annual publishing conferences.
Rosemary makes her home in Melbourne, Florida with her kitties Oscar and Buttercup. Her famous feline and muse, Ziggy, although now in kitty heaven, continues to be a great inspiration. To learn more about how Rosemary got started as an author and publisher, listen to her Video Interview.
